These pictures reveal what a new Derby city centre pub looks like ahead of its big opening on Friday night. The rebranded Duke of York GAY will offer themed nights, a specialist gin bar and a function room that could hold up to 70 people.

The Burton Road establishment has been shut for around six months but will open its doors tonight for the first time since being taken over by new management. Speaking to the Derby Telegraph, new owner Daniel Woodward said he believes the rejuvenated venue will appeal to both the gay and non-gay market. The pub was opening to the public from VIPs were being given an exclusive first look at the bar from 6pm.
